Peel Police Constable Artem “James” Ochakovsky

On Tuesday, the 2nd of March 2010, a member of our Service was lost to us. Constable Artem “James” Ochakovsky lost his life while serving the people of the Region of Peel. He came to work that day not knowing it would be his last but knowing that every day brought its own risks in service to the community. He came to work because he chose to serve his community and took pride and joy in that service.

We his co-workers have lost a friend and colleague. The community has lost a selfless officer who chose to serve his community. Most of all, a family has lost its son; its father; its husband, and a part of their lives.

In the days to come all of us will grieve with, comfort and support the family of James. We will be there in the days, months and years to follow with our support of the family. In the days ahead we shall also continue to serve our community as James did – with selflessness and pride.

James was a Hero in life, not death. He shall not be forgotten and he will be missed.

Where:  Turner and Porter Funeral Home - 2180 Hurontario Street, Mississauga
When:    Monday, March 8, 2010 - 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Monday, March 8, 2010 -  6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
