Peel Police Cst. Artem “James” Ochakovsky to be recognized at Police Memorial Service

Cst. A.Ochakovsky #3382

On Tuesday, the 2nd of March 2010, a member of our Service was lost to us. Constable Artem “James” Ochakovsky lost his life while serving the people of the Region of Peel. He came to work that day not knowing it would be his last but knowing that every day brought its own risks in service to the community. He came to work because he chose to serve his community and took pride and joy in that service.

We his co-workers have lost a friend and colleague. The community has lost a selfless officer who chose to serve his community. Most of all, a family has lost its son; its father; its husband, and a part of their lives.

On September 26th 2010 Members of the Peel Regional Police will join thousands of Police personnel from across Canada and the United States at the 33rd Annual Police and Peace Officers Memorial Service at Parliament Hill in Ottawa.  James’ name will be added to the Memorial, along with the names of 14 other Police and Peace officers.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the memorial service on the steops of Parliament Hill.  We thank you for your continued support.

James was a Hero in life, not death. He shall not be forgotten and he will be missed.
Greg Armstrong
President – Peel Regional Police Association
